A few self-sown sweet peas made an appearance in the veg plot this year. I’m not sure what the variety is, but I let them grow in situ anyway, waiting to see what would eventually unfold from the scrambling vines. And I’ve been rewarded with a few pretty white blooms, tinged around the edges with a barely-there lilac hue.
I’ve been cutting the flowers every few days and popping them in the house, enjoying their heady-but-delicate scent.
These small surprises always bring a little extra joy 🙂
