I just wanted to wish all Smallest Smallholding readers a very Merry Christmas (or Yule!) and offer my best wishes for a productive, successful and above all, happy new year.
Thank you for commenting, especially at times when I’ve been having a wobble and been all female and emotional. It really helps when you receive lots of replies sympathising, or offering advice, or just a jolly good kick up the backside.
This year has been extraordinarily rubbish, but I’ve got through it, and you’ve been here to share it with me (lucky you!!!!).
Tonight I’m off for a drink with an old schoolfriend of mine. He’s up from London for his birthday today and I guess, for Christmas, so we’re meeting up and having festive birthday drinks in one of the most old-boy pubs for miles around - but I guess it adds to that festive feeling! Then tomorrow my glamorous sister is hosting Christmas dinner, so we’re off over there (before having to zip home to shut the hens in before nightfall). THEN down to see Rich’s family on Boxing Day.
So yes, off to get the last Christmas present for my Mum (gardening vouchers), then finish the tiny last bit of wrapping. Got lots of tidying up to do, washing to put on, and cleaning out animal runs, indoor bunny house, chicken house etc etc. Fun!!!
Also, we are posh because Rich splashed out on some Duchy Originals Mince Pies. They work out at 50p per pie. But so very worth it.
Merry Christmas to one and all! And peace on earth and all that jazz…
