Birthday Girl

Happy Birthday to me for tomorrow (31st).

I will be 26 years old!

It’s a blimmin’ difficult day to have a birthday, mostly because everyone has somewhere else to be, and something else to celebrate. Oh well. Next year I’ll probably be a bit like the Queen and have an unofficial birthday in the middle of the summer, and maybe I can enjoy my birthday without feeling guilty for keeping people from their new year’s eve parties.

I also can’t wait to wave goodbye to 2008. It might just be another day, but there’s something refreshing about entering a new year and leaving the old (bad) one behind. Like a chance to start over and motivate yourself to make the next year a more productive and happy one. I would love to look back and say how I will miss 2009…

  2. Hi Lucy, I have been following your blog for a while and really enjoy it. I hope you have a lovely birthday. I admire your effects to live the self sufficiency lifestyle, it is something I would love to do. By the way, I think I might be close to you, I live in Milton Keynes. Take care and Happy New Year x

When I was younger I a had friend who’s birthday was Christmas Day so they had their birthday in the summer instead. It must be great getting to say when you want it.

My OH ‘s birthday was yesterday, also a rubbish day to have it! We often celebrate it on Feb 26th as that’s when he was due, but was a very premature baby!

  5. Ah, I to have a Birthday today.

    I know what you mean…..

I wonder if people born today are more likely to be small holders?

All the best to you and I hope you have a great day.

  9. Hi Lucy – hope you had a lovely birthday. Guess what – mine was on the 31st too so can sympathise with Rob and yourself. What seems to work for me is to have lots of little treats planned at home to make the day special and then maybe plan something more partyish for the next day such as a leisurely pub lunch – that way you can spread your birthday out over 2 days as compensation!
