Bedfordshire Wildlife Rescue
I often find that small injured or sick birds and mammals such as hedgehogs migrate to my smallest smallholding. They hang around for me to scoop them up and rescue them. This happens several times throughout the year, and usually at a really inconvenient time. Luckily for me I found a place called Bedfordshire Wildlife Rescue. They are a small registered wildlife charity set up to help people like me that would otherwise struggle to find somewhere to take these little patients.
Sam who runs the charity has done a brilliant job - always on hand, always welcoming and friendly, and never turning away any of my patients, however many times I might ring her up a week! She works full time nursing the animals, cleaning them out, treatments, rehabilitation and providing them with pretty much everything they need. We help her out by occasionally releasing the rather large, rotund hedgehog specimens that have been fully treated, fighting fit and fattened up ready for the big wide world again. It’s the very least we can do, seeing as she’s taken on so many sick animals for us so far. But like so many charities, Bedfordshire Wildlife Rescue relies on donations from the public - do you think you could help?

If you think you can help, please please do!!!! Sam at Bedfordshire Willdife Rescue has been absolutely brilliant with the hedgehogs she’s taken in from me. The amount of dedication and care that is put into treating and rehabilitating the animals is amazing, and all made possible by donations from the public.
